Ensuring A Brighter Tomorrow
Mental health is a growing challenge for children and youth living in poverty, where trauma, food insecurity, instability, and limited access to care can have lasting effects. Compassion partners with local churches to provide practical and Christ-centered support that helps young people build resilience and thrive. Through initiatives such as trauma-informed caregiver training, the Suicide Prevention Toolkit, the Rise Up Trauma Healing Program, and the Early Adolescent Skills for Emotions (EASE) course, Compassion is equipping caregivers, churches, and communities to respond effectively to mental health needs. In Ethiopia, where mental health is the top identified need, these efforts are helping young people find safe support systems, develop emotional strength, and experience hope and healing for a brighter future.
