There is no one-size-fits-all solution to child poverty. Every young person is unique and has specific needs that must be addressed to unlock their God-given potential. And while Compassion’s local church partners are well-positioned to care for the children in their neighborhoods, they can’t be experts in every possible way a child might need help in their distinctive contexts — especially in communities of extreme poverty.
We need sophisticated tools to evaluate the real-time needs of children and help us provide targeted, data-driven support for each child at every stage of their development. However, this type of tool currently does not exist at the level needed in the international development sector, and creating one requires a significant investment of resources beyond our capabilities alone.
In response, Compassion is developing a new Life Transformation Platform that will revolutionize the fight against child poverty within our church-driven ministry and beyond.
The Life Transformation Platform is a new toolbox that will help Frontline Church Partners identify priority needs for each child and build the best possible strategies to achieve desired child outcomes in every facet of their lives. This process will happen in a few simple steps.
Church partners collect data on the greatest needs of children and families in their neighborhood through proven social research methods, including actual interviews with children.
Churches match each need with the right intervention, informed by an evidence-based guide that Compassion has designed to reflect the best practices in the child development sector.
In partnership with Compassion national offices, churches implement these interventions and then measure and evaluate the impact. These learnings help guide future interventions, and the process starts over.
But it will require the investment of generous and compassionate people like you to build and scale it to transform child development around the world.
