Expanding Hope in Zambia
Strength in Partnership: Protecting Childhood in Zambia

For nearly 50 years, Senior Chief Chinyaku worked to protect children in Zambia’s Kanyanja community, but challenges such as poverty, early marriage, and gender-based violence required a broader response. By partnering with Compassion’s local church, community leaders established a Gender-Based Violence Center that strengthened child protection, accountability, and family support. Today, more children are growing up in safer environments, and more girls are staying in school and pursuing their futures. This story highlights the power of local partnerships to create lasting change, restore hope, and help children thrive.
